Signed. Sealed. Delivered!

Great News! The financing has been approved and the papers have been signed!!

It's time to build Toronto City Church!

It should only be a matter of days before construction will re-commence and we are very excited. The project should take 8 months to complete which means that by Summer 2012 we will be celebrating in a brand new facility that is ours.

So what now? We need to keep giving, keep praying and believe God like never before that we will have a great impact on this city!

Almost There!

Although I would love to say that we met our goal by May 8, I have to report that we are just shy of it.  Now…it would be easy to get discouraged, however it is in times like these that we need to be even MORE confident in God’s faithfulness!  As I sit here and write this I am reminded of the wonderful words of encouragement and faith that came forth a few weeks ago as God spoke to the hearts of many people in the Arise series we just had with Pastor Len Zoeteman.

Here are some of those scriptures:

Scriptures That  Exalt God

Isaiah 55:8-11  (Shantha J.)

Psalm 30:24 (Adrian S.)

Mark 4:30-32 (Denny M.)

Joshua 2:9-11 (Lisa L.)

Psalm 37:3 (Mark G.)

Hebrews 12:1-2 (Allan M.)

Scriptures of the Blessing, Goodness & Increase of God

Psalm 102:13-22 (Karan A.)

2 Corinthians 9:10-15 (Anna S.)

Isaiah 54:2-5 (Len Z.)

Isaiah 60:1-7 (Michelle M.)

Isaiah 55:8-13 (Les B.)

Mark 10:27-31 (Katherine Y.)

1 John 5:4 (Len Z.)

A Message from Pastor Steve

Tuesday April 19th, 2011

Greetings to each of you!

This morning I awoke very early and made my way to our church property to pray. As I was driving, and even when I arrived at 25 Hollinger, I could sense the presence of God but I didn’t have a “word” in my spirit. So, I read some scripture and as I was reading I noticed several cars pulling into the parking lot. I went over to the dome to see what was happening and to my surprise, there were two high school baseball teams from Greenwood College in for an early morning practice. They wondered who I was, (I looked kind of weird, my hair was all frizzy because I forgot to do something with it before I left the house), so I introduced myself and they were so happy that we had built this facility. But, what impacted me more was these wonderful young people. I had a tremendous peace being there with them for a few minutes. I went and circled our property as I continued to pray, entered inside the construction fence, walked around where the footings for our church are and I had a mighty realization. THE FOUNDATION IS IN THE GROUND! We have the land, we have the dome, we have the site plan agreement, we almost have the building permit, we have the construction financing lined up, we have the footings, we have the rebar laying on the property, we have $121,000.00 and  we have one another After all we have been through we only need $579,000.00 more and this building is going up. And I felt the Lord speak this scripture from Haggai 2:4,5,9 into my spirit. “… and be strong, all you people of the land, says the Lord, and work; for I am with you, says the Lord of hosts. According to the word that I have covenanted with you when you came out of Egypt, so My Spirit remains among you; do not fear! The glory of this latter temple shall be greater than the former, says the Lord of hosts. And in this place I will give peace, says the Lord of hosts.” Today, I have full confidence that we are going to get the construction of this building underway shortly and I realized that as this money comes in and we are able to build possibly on June 1st, that date is only 42 days away from today.

Be strong in the Lord today, and fear not!

With love,
P.Steve

A Little Bit of History!

Toronto City Church began as Covenant Christian Church and was founded by Pastors Paul & Elaine Yuke in 1988 with only 16 people in attendance at the first service they rented several small facilities as they grew.
In 1994 the church purchased their first building at 455 Huron Street which sat 280 people.   People said it would be hard to build a church in a downtown location, but we did it! The church continued to grow and the building was completely paid for in 2003.
In the spring of 2004 we outgrew our building on Huron St and once again moved into rented facilities.  We have since purchased a 4.6 acre piece of land and built an air supported sports dome for our community.  We are still in a rented facility and it is time to build a home for our church congregation!

This is an exciting project and if you would like to be a part of it please visit our website at www.torontocitychurch.com
